Gospel singers Donnie McClurkin and Nicole C Mullen are engaged

American gospel singers Donnie McClurkin and Nicole C. Mullen are getting married. Donnie McClurkin made the announcement when he appeared on TBN's long -running "Praise the Lord" ministry show on Thursday night.

Rumors that McClurkin and Mullen, 49, were dating started circulating after the two stepped out together at the 2015 Stellar Awards. But the gospel singers never made an official announcement about their romance untilThursday.

A.R. Bernard, who was also a guest on the show  hinted at McClurkin's engagement during a discussion about his new book, What Women Want From Men. Th show host Matt Crouch then stood up and announced that the 56-year-old "We Fall Down" singer and Perfecting Faith Church pastor is, in fact, on course to getting married.

"OK, are you ready for something? You want me to just drop something on ya?" Crouch asked the audience as he shouted, "Donnie McClurkin's getting married! Come on!"

McClurkin then proceeded to explain his decision. "Well praise God," he said. "Honestly, the only thing in my life that is missing is marriage. The only thing that is missing in my life that can cause real family, is marriage. Financially, I'm there. Spiritually, I'm almost there. Emotionally, I'm getting it together. But the only thing that's missing out of everything that I'm doing locally, cross country and globally is that aspect that makes family, family — is that wife that would make man whole, that element that brings favor to man."

"I have a lot of great things, but I don't have a good thing, and there's favor that can only come through marriage to a man,"

The New York-based minister talked about spending his nights watching Cartoon Network until 2 a.m. and confessed that he has come to realize the missing part of his existence is to have a help mate.

"To have someone that I can love. I'm not saying to love me, 'cause there's a lot of people that love me. I want someone that I can love, heal and comfort, protect and secure. That's what I want," he said.

Crouch asked McClurkin to name his future bride and McClurkin described how God brought him and Mullen together on an flight to Africa in December 2015.

McClurkin said that even though they've known each other for 15 years, the first time they really had a chance to talk was when they were seated next to each other on a flight to Ivory Coast, during which they spoke for eight hours.

Mullen was married twice. During her first marriage, the songwriter and choreographer endured physical and mental abuse. In 1993, she married CCM singer-songwriter David Mullen. They announced their divorce in 2014, citing "Biblical reasons" The marriage produced three children, one daughter and two sons.

Graduates of University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus Medical School, notably the Class of 1995 nicknamed 'Lynx '95 ' have returned to their alma mater to feed the fingers that once fed them.

Having travelled far and wide across their respective destinations and medical callings, 'Lynx '95' has donated a 40 KVA Solar-powered system to the new 120-room Medical Students' Hostel, apart from renovating the Lecture Theatre at Ituku Ozalla being the new site of the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital, UNTH.

The renovation works at UNTH by Lynx '95 included changing of the roof, ceilings, broken windows; refurbishing of electrical fittings and fixtures; repainting of the edifice; repairing of plumbing works, and installation of an overhead water tank.

The official hand-over of the donations and rehabilitation took place at UNTH on Friday, August 5, 2016; with high ranking academics from the Ivory Tower in attendance. Professor Ernest Onwasigwe, Provost of the Faculty of Health Sciences including Professors Ezegui Hyginus and Uchenna Nwagha being Dean and immediate past Dean both of the College of Medicine were on hand to grace the occasion.

The Lynx '95-powered event coincided with the Re-Union Week with activities including Morning Walk, Heart-Healthy Breakfast, Visit to Charity and Motherless Babies Home and Mentoring for Final Year Medical Students. The week-long event was capped with a Re-Union Dinner and an interdenominational thanksgiving service on Sunday, August 7, 2016.

For Lynx '95 to have given their widow's mites at this time underscores Malcolm Bane's philosophy: “If you wait until you can do everything for everybody, instead of something for somebody, you will end up doing nothing for nobody”.

Goals from Diomande and Snodgrass hand Foxes 2-1 defeat

Hull City got their 2016/17 Premier League campaign off to a dream start as they stunnedLeicester City, the defending champions, 2-1 at the KCOM Stadium. 

The Tigers had gone into the match hit by injuries and the summer departure of Steve Bruce, the manager, but they shook off those issues to hand a defending champions a defeat in their opening match of the next season for the first time in the Premier League.

An acrobatic bicycle kick by Adama Diomande gave the hosts the lead in added time of the first half and Robert Snodgrass scored their second after Riyad Mahrez had levelled from the penalty spot shortly after break.

Just before Diomande’s goal Leicester had two good chances to take the lead, with Robert Fuchs denied by Eldin Jakupovic and Jamie Vardy’s follow-up thwarted by a saving block by Jake Livermore. In the Foxes’ next attack Vardy blazed over from close range after being picked out by Ahmed Musa’s centre. 

Hull punished the champions with a goal from a corner, Kasper Schmeichel pawing out Curtis Davies’ header, only to be beaten by an overhead kick by Diomande, who kicked the ball fractionally after team-mate Abel Hernandez, with a similar acrobatic strike.

Mahrez equalised two minutes into the second period after Demarai Gray had been felled by Tom Huddlestone but Hull restored their advantage on 57 minutes when Snodgrass drilled low into the net after Leicester had failed to clear Ahmed Elmohamady’s centre.

Leicester pushed in search of an equaliser but the closest they came was when Danny Drinkwater's shot was easily saved by the Hull goalkeeper, Eldin Jakupovic. It was their first defeat since February after a season in which they had lost just three times.
