Drake’s ‘One Dance’ breaks billion mark on Spotify

Drake’s ‘One Dance’ breaks billion mark on Spotify

December 16, 2016

Drake

Drake’s “One Dance” on Friday notched up another record — it is the first song to be played a billion times on Spotify.

The Canadian rapper’s song — which already in October became the most-streamed song ever on Spotify — had been played 1.002 billion times by early Friday.

With a raw funk vibe but minimalist beat, “One Dance” has been in heavy rotation at clubs and parties this year.

The track, which appears on Drake’s top-charting album “Views,” features guest vocals by Wizkid, one of Nigeria’s top singers, and British house artist Kyla.

Drake’s totals on Spotify, the largest site in the fast-growing format of streaming, comes even though he has a business tie-up with Apple.

The tech giant, whose upstart Apple Music is trying to catch up with Spotify, released “Views” exclusively for its first week although individual tracks appeared elsewhere.

Despite Drake’s success, he was surpassed in November for most monthly listeners on Spotify by The Weeknd — a fellow Toronto artist and protege of Drake.

And in a surprise to many music watchers, “One Dance” was not nominated for Record of the Year or Song of the Year at the Grammy Awards although Drake is up in other categories.

Khloe Kardashian opens up about her ‘unhealthy relationship’ with food during marriage to Lamar Odom

Khloe Kardashian opens up about her ‘unhealthy relationship’ with food during marriage to Lamar Odom
By Ifysandy, Chudez

The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star has been honest in the past about how the breakdown of her relationship with ex husband Lamar Odom led to her turning to the gym and transforming her figure.

And now the 32 year old has opened up further about how she discovered, and overcame, her “unhealthy relationship” with food whilst dealing with the traumatic split.

Khloe and Lamar, who recently finalised her divorce, tied the knot in 2009 but split four years later.

Speaking to Health magazine, Khloe admitted that she needed an ”outlet” to help her get through the end of her marriage

She said: ”I was going through my divorce, and I just really needed an outlet.

“I had turned to food and had an unhealthy relationship with food my whole life, and I was like, ‘Food has never helped me lose weight.'”

“No-one would bother me or ask me questions because even at Starbucks, I would get the, ‘I’m sorry…’

“I would watch the ‘Real Housewives’ or something mindless, and I felt like all the stress I was under, all the paparazzi, I blocked out all that noise.

”I escaped there and as a byproduct, I started losing weight.”
Khloe revealed it was then that she got in touch with family friend Gunnar Peterson, a personal trainer, to help her take her fitness to the next level.

“He changed my body,” Khloe admitted.

Though she is often seen working out with her sisters Kourtney and Kim and follows a fairly strict diet, Khloe has admitted that the reason why her regime works is because it’s not always strict.

The Strong Looks Better Naked author told her 58 million Instagram followers: “”I never thought I would EVER be on the cover of @healthmagazine but hard work pays off! Mind, body and soul!

“It’s a lifestyle,” she added, “especially when I still love to treat myself with my favorite foods but that’s the balance of life!”

Elsewhere in the interview, Khloe revealed her family changed their wills to make her their medical advisers after Lamar’s overdose last October.

She also discussed her relationship with new boyfriend, 25-year-old basketball player Tristan Thompson.

Divulging about her type of man she said: “I love athletes. Someone who has the same interests as me, who likes to work out, like that’s their hobby or their job, that’s fine.”

She then adorably added: “Tristan is who I’m into. He’s a little cutie.’

Mkhitaryan Starts For United Against Tottenham

Mkhitaryan Starts For United Against Tottenham

By Chudez

Jose Mourinho has named the same Manchester United team for the second Premier League game in a row for Sunday’s visit of Tottenham Hotspur.

The Portuguese made six changes for Thursday’s 2-0 victory over Zorya Luhansk in the Europa League, but has reverted back to the team which drew 1-1 with Everton for the clash with Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

That means there is no place for either Wayne Rooney, who returns from a domestic suspension, nor Eric Bailly, who played in Odessa in midweek following almost seven weeks out with a knee injury.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan starts for a fourth successive fixture after a string of impressive showings which have seen him become more regularly involved in the United setup.

For the visitors, Toby Alderweireld is back in the starting lineup for the first time since suffering a knee injury in October against West Bromwich Albion, while Harry Kane leads the line against a club he was often linked with before signing a recent new deal at White Hart Lane which will keep him in north London until 2022.

Man Utd: De Gea, Valencia, Jones, Rojo, Darmian, Carrick, Herrera, Mkhitaryan, Pogba, Martial, Ibrahimovic. Subs: Romero, Bailly, Mata, Blind, Rashford, Rooney, Fellaini.

Tottenham: Lloris; Walker, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Rose; Wanyama, Dembele; Eriksen, Dele, Son; Kane. Subs: Vorm, Nkoudou, Dier, Sissoko, Wimmer, Winks, Davies.

Real Madrid Set New Unbeaten Record

BY CHUDEZ

Two goals in two minutes from Joselu just after the hour mark looked set to end Real’s unbeaten streak stretching back to April after Alvaro Morata’s opener.

However, even without the rested Cristiano Ronaldo, Real maintained their six-point La Liga lead as Mariano Diaz equalised six minutes from time before Ramos’s late intervention.

Zinedine Zidane’s men have now surpassed Real’s previous record mark of 34 games unbeaten from the 1988/89 season under Dutch coach Leo Beenhakker.

Zahra Buhari and Mohammed Indimi One account said the Indimis and the Buharis had a run-in during the traditional introduction ceremony as one of the Indimi sisters was banned from taking her camera into the Villa to record the traditional introduction ceremony. Another account claimed that the President was dissatisfied with the grandiose manner with which the Indimis delivered their dowry boxes made by French luxury brand, Luis Vuitton. Health is wealth.. Read the health implications of Marijuaana

Doc, what are the health implications of marijuana? ……. (1)

— 4th December 2016

I have received from people, and requested to discuss, more than 100 health-related questions, in the last 6 months. I plead with my responders, that in fullness of time, I shall discuss all of them, maybe probably merging related topics, to avoid repetitions. I have, had 4 questions related to marijuana in the last 2 months, a) One wanted to know the health-implications of smoking marijuana for a very long time.
b) Another said he had smoked marijuana for 3 to 5 years before he stopped, and wanted to know if there will be any after affects on his health. c) Another said he only smokes marijuana about 3 to 4 times a year whenever he visits his village during festivities, but does not smoke it in Lagos where he works for security reasons, and wanted to know if it will harm him. d) The last said he occasionally uses marijuana leaves to cook porridge yam, because he was told it leads to long-life, and helps in keeping sickness at bare. I decided to educate us, on what marijuana is, it effects on our body, and the pros and cons of its usage.
What actually is marijuana?
♥ All over the world, “marijuana or marihuana or cannabinoids”, means different things to different people. In Nigeria it has varied names, wee-wee, igbò, kongò, Indian-hemp, wrap, ganja, hashish, etc etc. Marijuana is a Mexican-Spanish word, originally used to refer to a poor-grade of tobacco. Later it came to mean a smoking preparation made from the Indian hemp plant (cannabis-sativa). A tall weedy plant related to the “fig” tree and the hop, cannabis grows freely in many parts of the world. The different grades produce drugs of varying strengths.
♥ Some 300 million people around the world obtain, smoke or use marijuana in one form or another. Marijuana drugs are obtained almost exclusively from the female hemp plants. The male plants produce the fibre of the hemp. When the female plants are ripe, the top leaves, flowers develop a minty, sticky, golden-yellow resin, which eventually blackens. This resin contains the highest concentration of Tetra-Hydro-Cannabinol (THC), the active ingredients of marijuana.
♥ Marijuana is prepared in two alternative ways. The flowers and top leaves of the plant can simply be dried and crushed; or the resin itself – which is the active ingredient – can be extracted. The first form is called simply marijuana (nicknamed “grass”), and has the appearance of a dried crumbled herb. The second form is called hashish or cannabis resin (nicknamed “hash”), and appears as a hard brown lump. A liquid “oil” of the resin is also available.
How is marijuana consumed?.
1) ■ The 2 main forms of marijuana are normally smoked, usually in cigarettes called “joints” or “reefers”. The dried flowers and leaves may be used alone, or mixed with tobacco. If the resin is used, it is heated and crumbled, then the small pieces are mixed with the tobacco as the joint is made. Alternatively, both forms may be smoked in a pipe. A water pipe is popular, as it cools the smoke before it is inhaled.
2) ■ The other mode of consumption is in drinks or food. This can give longer and smoother effects; also more extreme effects, as more of the drug can be taken into the body this way. However, control over dosage is diminished, and nausea may occur.
What are the effects of marijuana in the body?
1) ♥ Marijuana accumulates in the liver, so it is hepato-toxic, meaning it will eventually damage the liver, especially when inhaled. So our youth should take note.
2) ♥ Marijuana increases the heart rate, lowers body temperature, and alters blood sugar level and this could lead to unconsciousness with an overdose.
3) ♥ Marijuana leads to gargantuan appetite stimulation, that one person could consume, food meant for 3 people. So parents, whenever your teenage sons, become insatiable, with excessive food consumption, please quietly investigate what he is smoking.
4) ♥ Co-ordination of movement become impaired. There are feelings of drowsiness and unsteadiness. The eyes may become reddish. In higher doses marijuana can cause hallucinations, or distortion of perception. The effects begin withi 15 minutes after it is inhaled and lasts for 4 to 6 hours. The effects may vary from depression, excitement and talkativeness. Some smokers experience time distortion and errors of distance perception. Surprisingly some smokers of marijuana, may experience no effects at all.
5) ♥ Some marijuana users find it hard to make decisions that require clear thinking. Some users develop psychotic reaction, heading towards schizophrenia, or an emotional disorder called ” acute marijuana panic”
6) ♥ There is some evidence that the active ingredient of marijuana is transmitted by expectant mothers to their unborn children. So pregnant mothers that experiment with pot smoking, please beware, or you damage your children from birth.
7) ♥ Some smokers of marijuana may also become colour-blind. So any youth that cannot identify colours, should be grilled for pot smoking.
Our take this week.
All youth should be discouraged from smoking marijuana, because 95% of those who do, never ended up well in life. Next week we shall discuss the medical uses of marijuana. So stay off pot.

Miss Anambra’s sex tape saga will affect other pageants, says former Miss Tourism — Sharon Anya

Miss Anambra’s sex tape saga will affect other pageants, says former Miss Tourism — Sharon Anya

DECEMBER 4, 2016
By Ayo Onikoyi

In the wake of the sex tape saga of former Miss Anambra,  Chidinma Okeke, that threw several media into pandemonium, there have been worries that other pageants may not hold as much credibility as they used to. The Miss Anambra saga which Nollywood is even attempting to make into movie raised many questions about pageants in Nigeria and some enthusiastic pundits have been painting all sorts of pictures what to expect in future. Meanwhile, Potpourri talked to a former beauty queen, Ambassador Sharon Anya, Miss Tourism Nigeria 2015 and she also holds the belief that pageants may not be what they used to be. “It will certainly affect other pageants. Sharon Anya The organisers have to become more transparent, and let the criteria be properly spelt out, and being more transparent means, everybody should know why the winner won, and on the other hand, the contestants should always go for official meetings with her lawyer and manager before signing any contract”, she offered. When asked if it is true that beauty queens cut corners to win at all costs, the Mass Communications graduate of Igbinedion University said it is a possibility and maintained that it is not exclusive to pageants. “It happens in any other field. Some journalists go the extreme to get top interviews, even in churches, there are pastors that use diabolical powers to get to the top. Some athletes use drugs to get to the top,  there are those that would want to do anything to get to the top of their careers, in every field. There are those that break the moral boundary in pursuit of a goal, others won’t, it’s everywhere, so it’s not peculiar to pageants only. “I don’t know her to know what went wrong, the act was wrong but the person…I can’t judge. For future pageants, have a team, have a manager and a lawyer. For me, I got into Miss Tourism Nigeria pageant for a purpose and not to be famous. My pageant is about promoting tourism , women empowerment, leadership across the country and attracting foreign investors, I focused on that, and it kept me going, I was able to stay scandal-free because I invest in myself a lot, I cultivated a life I want to enjoy in peace,” she added

BIAFRA: Igbo leaders, agitators reject Buhari’s position, insist on restructuring

BIAFRA: Igbo leaders, agitators reject Buhari’s position, insist on restructuring

DECEMBER 4, 2016

By Emeka Mamah, Vincent Ujumadu, Dennis Agbo & Chinedu Adonu

Leaders of Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, and  a  former Secretary General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief Nduka Eya, are among Igbo people who have rejected  President Muhammadu Buhari’s  statement that those agitating for Biafra should perish the idea because it would not be a reality, saying  Buhari was day-dreaming. IPOB, in a statement  by its  spokesman, Emma Powerful, said that Buhari and the people around him are far from the reality about what is happening now and what is about to happen in Nigeria concerning the restoration of Biafra. President Muhammadu Buhari (M) as he join in a group Photograh with Obi of Onisha, HRM Igwe Nnaemeka Achebe, Leader of the South East Traditional Rulers, HRM Eze Dr Ebereche Dick `HRM Eze Sam Ohiri, HRH Chulwuemeka Ike and others as President Buhari receives South East Traditional Rulers at the state house in Abuja According to IPOB, the statement credited to the President during a meeting with South-East traditional rulers that his visitors, should advise their subjects to forget the issue of Biafra had proved that Buhari and his the people around him  were far away from the reality on ground. “They forgot that there is no how Nigeria can be one again because of the cheating from the people ruling the country. They also forgot that there are those who came to rule Nigeria in perpetuity are of the knowledge that Nigeria is not going to be one country in the near future”, the group said. “There is no way a country where cheats, quota system, imbalance of states and local government areas and lopsided sharing are the order of the day can be one indivisible entity. “Those who created 19 states in northern part and 17 states in the southern part of Nigeria and more local government areas are aware before the creation that one day Nigeria will be a devided nation. “With the fraudulent falsification of Nigeria census figures against the Biafrans since the colonial era, they know very well that one day Nigeria will be a thing of the past. “We are also aware that those at the corridors of power in Nigeria are aware that Nigeria is sinking but refused to tell the president the truth on the ground about the coming of Biafra. Eya, a former Secretary General of Ohanaeze, who spoke to Sunday Vanguard, yesterday, on the President’s statement,  said Buhari was “day-dreaming.” The Secretary of Ohanaeze in Enugu State, Hon. Fidelix Ojobo, spoke in the same vein, saying the Ndigbo would continue to agitate for Biafra since the agitation is guaranteed by the 1999 Constitution. The former Secretary General said, “The man (Buhari) is day-dreaming. He has the solutions to Nigeria’s problems in the resolutions of the last National Conference through restructuring but he is not doing anything.. “Biafra is a reality, people should not be angry because time shall tell. Abacha gagged Nigeria in his own time until God called him and MKO Abiola. Nobody should worry about whatever he says but if he thinks that Biafra is something to be wished away, then Biafra will overtake him. All I can say is that oppression stops when the oppressed says no.” Meanwhile, Enugu State Secretary of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Hon Ojobo, said Buhari was merely airing his opinion as an individual, adding that Nigerians and Igbo in particular would continue to agitate for their constitutional rights. President Buhari the Chairman & the Executive Secretary of the South East Council of Traditional Rulers, at the State House “The issue of Biafra is not a bad agitation and it is also not violent. The Igbo will keep agitating.   Biafra has come to be whether he supports Biafra or not,” Ojobo said. He then advised the President to remember that “we are operating democratic system of government and he should organise a constitutional conference and seek people’s views, because a referendum will help immensely to solve problems of this country.” Ojobo also urged Buhari to address the issue of Igbo marginalisation in the area of political appointments, federal civil service recruitment, infrastructural development, especially roads among many other issues, instead of insisting that those agitating for their civil right (Biafra) should perish the idea. In his own reaction, Chief Boniface Odo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, said that although he was not involved in the agitation for Biafra, he was in support of every move by Ndigbo to agitate against marginalisation by successive federal administrations including the present APC. “APC has inflicted a lot of hardship on Nigerians, especially Ndigbo. APC is like one of the seven plagues that afflicted the people of Egypt in the Bible. We in a country where people are committing suicide due to hunger and one man is busy using coercive powers on those they are meant to protect their lives, it will not work. Our people must continue to agitate.”

Don Jazzy, Dr Sid thrill as Okorocha unveils Grand Cubana Lounge

Don Jazzy, Dr Sid thrill as Okorocha unveils Grand Cubana Lounge

— 2nd December 2016

By Kemi Yesufu

Owerri, the bubbly capital of Imo State, came alive on Friday November 25, when Governor Rochas Okorocha unveiled Grand Cubana Lounge and Events Centre, probably the biggest and most upscale hangout in the south east.

The hotspot had been the talk of the town, most especially, among fun loving people of the state weeks before it was launched. However, while declaring the lounge open, Okorocha, who was represented by his Chief of Staff, Uche Nwosu, commended Obinna Iyiegbu, chairman, Cubana Group and its management team for building a high-class entertainment hub in Imo State.

“Now, we don’t have to go to Abuja or travel out to enjoy a place of this quality and we therefore have to commend you for making this kind of investment in Owerri,” he said.

Nwosu expressed the willingness of the Imo State government to collaborate with genuine investors who have interest in the state, announcing that Governor Okorocha had directed that streets lights be installed from the Assumpta Roundabout to the World Bank Road location of the events centre to further ensure the safety of fun seekers.

“What we are witnessing today is the Igbo spirit of industry, the Igbo spirit of investing in your own place and remembering home. I must commend the chairman of the Cubana Group for investing in the south east at this level after doing the same thing in Port Harcourt and Abuja. I want to announce to you that Governor Rochas Okorocha, the people’s governor, the Senior Advocate of the Masses, has directed that street lights be installed from the Assumpta Junction to this place to further make the provision of security easy here,” Nwosu emphasised.

Speaking to TS Weekend on his choice of Owerri, Iyiegbu described Imo State, which is home to A-list showbiz personalities like Charly Boy, Genevieve Nnaji, Rita Dominic, and Kanayo O. Kanayo as the entertainment capital of Igboland. “Owerri is the entertainment and leisure heartland of the south east, this explains why we took our time to invest in this town. We know Owerri people have good taste, so we didn’t spare cost in all what you can see here. We conducted an assessment which showed that Owerri is the first choice for fun seekers in the south east, so we are glad to invest here,” he affirmed.

In fact, the Grand Cubana Lounge and Events Centre was built to international standard. A tour of the hangout revealed the Opium Nightlife to comprise of a bush bar, a grill, a restaurant and two banquet halls.

According to the General Manager, Paul Nti, the management has vowed not to compromise on the standard of the lounge, as it will be maintained regularly. “Cubana isn’t such a young brand. We have been in this business for eight years with our standout character being our maintenance culture and the ability to train staff to always see the customer as king,” Nti posited.

However, the icing on the cake for the event came on Saturday with a live performance by the Mavin Records’ duo of Don Jazzy and Dr. Sid. Revelers who returned for an encore took turns to take selfies with the artistes and they sang along when Dr. Sid performed some of his hits including Surulere, Over the Moon and Up to Something.

Family rejected me; people mocked me but…

Family rejected me; people mocked me but…

— 2nd December 2016

– China-based Nigerian artiste, James Ogbobe

From Petrus Obi, Enugu

He started off in Nigeria as a dancer. His family rejected him and was mocked by friends. But now, he is a success story as an actor cum singer with over 1.7 million online fan base.

In this interview, 28-year-old Nsukka-born James Ifeanyi Ogbobe opens up on his journey to stardom in the Peoples Republic of China. Enjoy it.

How I started

I started doing a traditional dance called ‘Igba Ndi-Eze’ while in secondary school in Nigeria. We formed a group to play this kind of music and I was the dancer in the group.  Also, I danced for some similar groups in the locality. Later, I met some established musicians and I started dancing for them. I danced for Princess Ego, from Enugu Ukwu in Anambra State. From her I got to know Theresa Onuora (Egedege), who I danced for, for about a year and a half. From Theresa Onuora and Princess Ego, I got into the music industry for real and sang and danced for Prince Gozie Okeke. I was in most of the videos of Ozoemene Nwa-Nsugbe. I disguised like a woman in these videos but in live shows I dressed like a man. That’s how my life started in Nigeria. And while we were dancing for Prince Gozie Okeke, I danced alongside Nkoli Nwa Nsukka (Rachael Okonkwo) because we come from the same area and we were good friends.

Family rejected me

My parents passed on when I was in JSS 3. My family was extremely against me when I was dancing then; even people would laugh at me while I danced. Sometimes, someone would climb the stage to spray money and will whisper to my ears, saying ‘you stupid old man, you are too old to be a dancer; you better go back to school or find something to do with your life’. Some would tell me that men don’t dance, that dance is for women. I received several insults from people, but they were not to be compared to the ones I received from my own family members, most especially, my elder brother. He was very angry with me; my uncles were very angry too, they never liked me. But today, the story is different.

Coming to China

After my WAEC, I got a scholarship that took me to China to study for five years. I came to China, learnt Chinese language for one year; and from the second year, I decided to go into my major, which is Tourism Management. In 2003, I met a Chinese woman in a coffee bar; I was sitting in a coffee bar and she just walked up to me and asked where I came from. I said I was from Nigeria. She said ‘okay, you look very good and you have a nice body, would you mind appearing in television?’ I said it wouldn’t be a problem. Then, she said she has a job for me. I asked what kind of job? She explained that she wanted me to take part in a TV show, and that’s where my being in TV started in China.

I went for the show and from there other TV stations started looking for me until I got the one I am doing now, Informal Talk, which is broadcast in English every Friday at 9:30pm. From Informal Talk, I got the opportunity to go into movies. I did an online movie called,Yi Zhang Ke. Then later this year, I had an opportunity to shoot another movie that would be shown in the cinema, not online.

My favourite Nollywood actors

I have so many favourite Nollywood actors like Kenneth Okonkwo, Rachael Okonkwo, Nonso Diobu, Mercy Johnson, Jim Iyke, Emeka Ike, Genevieve Nnaji, Nkem Owoh, Patience Ozokwor, Emeka Ike, Ngozi Ezeonu, Chioma Chukwuka, Ini Edo, Pete Edochie, and a host of others.

On Chinese language

I speak Chinese very fluently. I can speak and read Chinese, but you know writing Chinese is very difficult. However, with phones and computers, I can write the language. I am from Nsukka and every village has their local language; so my Chinese is much better than my local language right now. Last year, when I came to Nigeria, I found out that I could understand everything said to me Igbo, but to speak it became a problem.

On Chinese food

When I first came to China, it was a big problem for me to eat Chinese food. For the first one week I ate only noodles, bread and tea. When I tried to eat Chinese food, I would vomit. But for like a month, I started trying and cooking Chinese food by myself, and gradually, I became adapted to it.

The funny thing about it is that, when I came home last year, I tried Nigerian food and I started vomiting, and my people were surprised. I was ashamed and I tried my possible best to be adapted to our local food again. I tried to also communicate with the elders in Nsukka dialect.

Between Nigerian and Chinese cultures

For me, Chinese food is much better than Nigerian food for now. I am just being honest. About culture, Chinese people are very traditional; they are not that open. If you are in China, you have to be very careful how you relate with people, because you might make them angry but they will pretend as if they are happy with you. They will keep on smiling, trying to show you that nothing has happened, and if you continue to do something bad, one day they will react.

On relationship, in Nigeria if you love someone, you might go straight to the person and tell him or her how you feel. But in China, someone might love another forever without telling him of her, and because of fear of rejection, he or she may die with the feelings. The person may even get married and have kids, and the other person may die single.

Home, sweet home

I am not happy that in China when I walk on the streets people recognise me but in my own country, Nigeria, it’s not the same thing. So, I want to do something with my own people like filming, modeling or even doing adverts for companies. For me, money is not the most important thing now; I am not saying it’s going to be for free, but I just need to do something in Nigeria, to work with Nigerians. I have to start from somewhere because nobody knows me in my country.

Court To Decide Nnamdi Kanu’s Fate Today

Court To Decide Nnamdi Kanu’s Fate Today

BY VICTOR · DECEMBER 1, 2016

Will Kalu come out victorious today?

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has appealed to its members and Biafrans to accept the outcome of today’s  court ruling on the bail application of its leader, Nnamdi Kanu to avoid unnecessary killing of unarmed civilians by security agents.

The group alleged that it was not expecting any thing good from the court because the president had ordered the judiciary not to release its leader, during his broadcast on December 30, 2015.

A statement by the Media and Publicity of IPOB, Mr. Emma Powerful, yesterday, urged every member and Biafrans to remain calm notwithstanding whether the ruling is in favour or against its leader, Kanu.

Fear in NYSC camp as female corps member dies mysteriously

Fear in NYSC camp as female corps member dies mysteriously

BY VICTOR · DECEMBER 1, 2016

Fear has gripped corps members at the Bayelsa State Orientation Camp at Kaiama, Kolokuma-Opokuma Local Government Area of the state following the death of a female member of the National Youth Service Corps, who reportedly died in a mysterious circumstance.

The female corps member, whose name was given as Miss Elechi Chiyerom, aged 27, was confirmed dead on Tuesday. She reportedly bled and vomitted  on arrival at the camp.

Elechi, a graduate of the Ignatius Azuru University of Education, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, was confirmed dead about 9pm on Tuesday five days after arriving at the camp.

Some corps members claimed the deceased on arrival at the camp last Thursday looked “terribly sick” and could not participate in some opening sessions at the camp.

Some officials of the NYSC claimed that the development was a case of “non-disclosure” of state of health by the corps member.

It was learnt that a search on her hostel section showed signs of excessive bleeding with her clothing and sanitary pads soaked in blood.

It was also learnt that the deceased corps member reportedly relapsed into ill-health and was rushed to the sick bay of the camp at about 8pm on Tuesday.

A source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said, “The doctor at the NYSC camp’s clinic immediately referred her to the state-owned Diette-Koki Memorial Hospital in the Opolo area of Yenagoa, the state capital, where she was confirmed dead.”

Don't run away from your sexuality, don't shy away from who you are" - Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde

Tuesday, 29 November 2016

"Don't run away from your sexuality, don't shy away from who you are" - Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde

Nollywood actress, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde has given young aspiring actors and filmmakers, tips on how to make celebrity marriage work.

The mother of four, fondly called Omosexy was one of the panelists at the Innovation Warehouse, a mentorship programme for aspiring filmmakers and actors during the just concluded Africa International Film Festival in Lagos.

While fielding questions from the participants, one asked why there is a high rate of divorce in celebrity marriages. In response, Omotola said that for a marriage to work in the entertainment industry, partners must be of the same faith.

"They must believe in you. If you’re a Christian and you marry someone who is not born again then you are on your own. Your partner needs to be stronger than you. They are the ones getting the aftermath of your own action. Choose a partner who understands entertainment. Don’t choose your fan. Personally, I don’t believe in love at first sight. Pick someone who sees your heart, your soul, someone who sees the real you and not afraid to tell you about your flaws.

"Discipline is key. Everyone wants freedom but too much freedom is bad. Be disciplined. It’s better to be an enemy to a work partner than to your family. Learn to say No! We are like nurses and doctors in the industry because we can be called upon at anytime."

She also advised against giving in to advances to get movie roles.

"Sometimes you will get a role for giving yourself out but you won’t be able to retain it. If you become famous it will later hunt you. But don't run away from your sexuality, don't shy away from who you are, enjoy who you are, come on there but come out with substance."

Man U's Jose Mourinho to sign Chelsea's John Mikel Obi in January

Tuesday, 29 November 2016

Man U's Jose Mourinho to sign Chelsea's John Mikel Obi in January

The Sun UK newspapers has published a shocking report, saying Jose Mourinho intends to sign Chelsea and Super Eagles midfielder John Mikel Obi in January.

Mourinho feels Mikel, who has a few months left in his Chelsea contact, will help improve Man U's midfield and is prepared to sign him in January when he knows he'll come cheap. Read the full report, after the cut.
Mikel, 29, has not played under new Stamford Bridge manager Antonio Conte and there are no plans to renew his contract which runs out this season.

Now the Man united boss is ready to take advantage with a cut-price New Year offer for the player the Red Devils thought they had signed ten years ago.

Mikel had just turned 19 when the Old Trafford outfit announced on their website that they had signed the teenager on a four-year contract from Norwegian club Lyn Oslo. The £4million transfer was done directly with the player and his club — bypassing his agents and he was even pictured in a United shirt. But Chelsea angrily claimed they had an agreement with the agents to buy him.

It was reported Obi started to get threatening phone calls and ended up having to take refuge in a safe hotel with a security guard.

He then went missing from Lyn amid stories he had been kidnapped.

The Nigerian midfielder had actually travelled to London where he went on Sky Sports TV to claim that he had been pressured into signing for United, something they denied, and he wanted to join the Blues.
The matter was resolved when Chelsea paid United £12m and Lyn £4m.

If the deal is successful, this will be the second time Mourinho will sign Obi, who he believes can play in a defensive midfield role in front of the back four.

He needs that type of player to give £89m Paul Pogba freedom to roam.

Ways To Break Your Child From Habits

Ways To Break Your Child From Habits

BY NONSO@RN

Here, experts weigh in on why these habits are harmful and offer their best tips for how to deal with your child’s behaviors.

1. Hanging onto the bottle
Switching from a bottle to a sippy cup is often one of the most challenging things for toddlers to do. Plus, drinking too much milk can cause your tot to skip meals and miss out on calcium-rich foods like leafy green vegetables, yogurt and cheese and may even lead to iron deficiency.

Of course, allowing your child to fall asleep with a bottle in his mouth can also lead to cavities and tooth decay.

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommends toddlers transition to a sippy cup by 15 months of age, but experts say the time to start introducing the sippy cup is around six months so that by the time they’re a year old, it’s gone for good.

“The truth is that they’ve satisfied most of their sucking needs by a year,” said Dr. Jane Scott, a pediatrician and neonatologist in Greenwood Village, Colorado, and author of “The Confident Parent: A Pediatrician’s Guide to Caring for Your Little One–Without Losing Your Joy, Your Mind, or Yourself.”

Some students we teach are not fit for medical schools shocking revelation from professor of surgery...

Shocking revelation from Professor of Surgery

— 29th November 2016

‘Some students we teach are not fit for medical schools, how they got there, I don’t know’

From Aloysius Attah, Onitsha

In the world of today mostly where people dodder into a particular career but end up practicing in an entirely different field, a call has gone out to parents to desist from imposing choice career on their children.
Prof Gabriel Udeze Chianakwana made the call at the 2016 College Lecture of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Nnewi Campus orgarnised in conjunction with the Directorate of International Collaboration and Linkages and Insight Africa-UK.
Chianakwana, a Professor of Surgery, who was one of the lead speakers, described medical education as a difficult task meant for those ready to pay the required price. Speaking on the topic “International and Intercultural Collaboration in Medical Education”, he lamented that some people and students alike see medicine as a status symbol.  He said those that run to the course for the mere pleasure of seeing the appellation of ‘Dr’ affixed to their names should better have a rethink.
He counseled parents not to force their children to read medicine because such situation according to him has bred unmitigated disaster into the medical profession.
According to him “the medical students must read to be a doctor while every doctor must strive to be a very good doctor. Some students we teach are not fit for medical schools, how they got there, I don’t know.  The faculties are not the best and we keep managing but for how long shall we keep managing?” he queried.
Prof. Chianakwana pointed out that there are so many cases of policy changes in Nigeria without continuity of any lofty programme at the change of any government.
He lamented that the quality of an educational system can’t exceed the quality of its teachers declaring that it is high time the right people are hired to teach.
He identified Discipline, Honesty, Integrity and Selflessness as key virtues required from every Nigerian irrespective of one’s position and made a strong case for the compulsory fixing of one year abroad programme for fresh medical students graduates in Nigeria.
Prof. Chianakwana counseled those in the medical school not to see their certificate as meal tickets
He regretted that today in Nigeria most bankers working as cashiers in several financial institutions never read accountancy, banking and finance and other related courses. He said some them read political science while some were medical students in the university.
It is the same story in the ecclesiastical fold where some parents even force their children into seminary schools so that the family will produce a priest not minding whether such people have the inner calling to go into the ministry or not.
Another lecturer, Dr. Edwin Nwobodo while speaking on the theme: “Medical Education in the 21st Century,” said there are new demands in the skills, attitude, knowledge in training and practice for the 21st century medical expert.
He said the era now calls for problem based learning which also requires new tools and ways of assessing the people and teaching the subject matter.
He noted that the 21st century skills should be activity-based, collaborative, creative, integrative and evaluative.
Nwobodo said that technology should be regarded as a powerful learning resource that can support the 21st century skills.  He said Information Communication Technology (ICT) facilities should be made available in quantity and quality at schools to guarantee the opportunities for technology use in the classrooms.
He declared that Information Technology is the way to go for the medical education in the 21st century.
Dr Igwebuike Onyiora , Director,  International Collaboration and Linkages, an associate professor of Hematologic Pathology and Forensic Medicine  in a chat with the reporter said he got collaborators to be part of that interface with British and Nigerian universities in the area of education research and  career development.
He said the target of nurses this time around is to give them dual certification and career development so that the nurses can have the capacity, competence and certification to work both in Nigeria and anywhere in the world.
“Apart from that, we want to see how we can now design curriculum to suit our local needs and meet international standards, the reason we do college lecture every year and this is one of a kind. We got Insight Africa UK, an organization involved in education, research and career development in the versatile areas of life. They collaborate and interface with UK institutions and African universities,” he said.
Provost, College of Health Sciences, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Nnewi Campus, Prof. Alexander Nwafor, in a remark noted that the college lecture is important because of the essence of medical education and collaboration.
He said there are best practices which are standards anywhere in the world for which no institution should be in isolation anymore. He said the target is on changes in education in line with the realities and practice and declared that any education without practicability is a failure hence the need to equip the students with what has been done before and where those things can be taken further.
He said that collaboration makes peer review system possible and this not only enriches knowledge but broadens the horizon.
Mrs Ral Parkin of Insight Africa UK in a presentation said the medical students have been given a lifetime opportunity to explore linkage programmes and also benefit from the interface offered by the programme so that they can turn out as better equipped persons in the medical field for both individual benefits and the general positive growth of the Nigerian medical profession.

Dogara queries CBN’s regulation on collateral registry

Dogara queries CBN’s regulation on collateral registry

— 29th November 2016

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, Monday stated that the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) cannot subvert the laws of the land under the pretext of promoting “sound financial system.”
Speaking at the public hearing organised by the House Committee on Commerce on “A Bill for an Act to Provide For Secured Transactions”, Dogara said the CBN made regulations for a collateral register, which may have overreached its powers.
Speaking on the secured transaction bill, Dogara said: “The bill, if passed into law, will align Nigeria’s secured transactions regime with international best practices since the existence of a modern collateral registry for movables is one of the indices indicated for better doing business ranking.
“It is, however, important to point out that the CBN in September 2014, issued the Collateral Registry Regulations, 2014. The CBN founded its authority for making the Regulations on Section 1(2) of the Central Bank of Nigeria Act No. 7 of 2007, which details the principal objectives of the Bank and the Banks and Other Financial Institutions Act, Cap B3 – LFN 2004 (BOFIA) (as amended).
“It claimed that S.57 of the BOFIA authorises the Governor of CBN to ‘make regulations to give full effect to the objects and objectives of the Act’ as well as those for the operation and control of all institutions under the supervision of the Central Bank.
“In May 2016, the CBN launched a modern online Collateral Registry with the support of the World Bank. The registry allows low-income people and small-scale entrepreneurs to secure loans against movable assets such as machinery, livestock and inventory.”
Dogara said the 2014 regulations, according to the CBN, were intended to “provide a regulatory framework for accessing credit secured with movable property, creation and perfection of security interests, and realisation of security interests in movables. “The main challenge, however, which the committee should examine  with its legal consultants is to determine the need for legislation in this area when the CBN seems to have covered the field by way of the 2014 Regulation.
“The CBN has also established the Registry online as already indicated above. Most of the provisions sought to be enacted in the Bill are already operational by way of CBN Regulations.
“The real possibility of conflict exists if the CBN Regulations and the current Bill, if passed, are allowed to exist side by side. The committee needs to determine whether the CBN overreached itself in proceeding by way of regulations instead of by legislation on this subject.
He questioned CBN’s capacity to do all it did as regards the registry.
“Is the CBN authorised to introduce all manner of laws under the broad pretext of promoting ‘a sound financial system’ in Nigeria and giving effect to the ‘objects and objectives’ of BOFIA? Is the CBN a legislative body or merely a regulatory body in the financial sector?
“We need to examine these issues constructively in such a manner that will ensure fidelity to law and ease of operations in the financial system.”
He said no matter how difficult the legislative process may be, “it does not give any agency of government the authority to subvert the law by proceeding to legislate directly by questionable and unauthorised regulations that go way beyond the enabling laws.”

PDP goes to court as Fayose insists on Justice Abang’s sack

… PDP goes to court as Fayose insists on Justice Abang’s sack

— 29th November 2016

From Wole Balogun, Ado-Ekiti and Ndubuisi Orji, Abuja

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has condemned Ondo State’s governorship election and has called for its cancellation, accusing the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of complicity.
A statement signed by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Prince Dayo Adeyeye described the election as a charade and not the true reflection of the will of the people of the state.
“INEC has graduated from inconclusive elections as seen in Kogi, Bayelsa, Osun, Imo, Nassarawa states, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and some other previous by-elections in the country to ‘advanced election rigging’, as was the case of Edo and Ondo states governorship election.
“It is common knowledge that the APC agents openly bought votes of the electorate in the full glare of security operatives who did nothing to prevent such dastardly violation of the electoral law.
“In view of the fact that the election was manipulated from the beginning to the end, we vehemently reject the results of the Saturday, November 26, 2016 governorship election in Ondo. We have instructed Jegede and the Ondo chapter of our party to proceed to the election petition tribunal to challenge the outcome of the poll. We call on the judiciary to redeem Nigeria’s image on this matter as we request for the cancellation of Ondo election.”
Elsewhere, factional PDP Deputy National Chairman, Dr. Cairo Ojougboh, attributed the party’s loss to impunity and lack of respect for the party’s constitution.
Ojougboh, who is of the  Senator Ali Modu-Sheriff faction, said this at a press conference, in Abuja, yesterday.
He traced the crisis in Ondo PDP to Mimiko’s return which consequently  led to a mass exodus of party stalwarts from the party.
Besides, he accused Mimiko of foisting Mr. Eyitayo Jegede on the PDP as its governorship candidate, “thereby deepening the rift in the party. All the PDP members, led by Olusola Oke left the PDP for him. In choosing a candidate to succeed him, he did not allow the PDP members to buy forms. He mainly anointed Jegede.
Ojougboh said the party could have also lost the entire South South if President (Goodluck) Jonathan does not hail from the region.
Meanwhile Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose has described Federal High Court Abuja judge, Justice Okon Abang as “a cancer that is capable of destroying the Judiciary in Nigeria, if nothing is done to curb his excesses.”
The governor claimed Abang “is seeing his position as a judge, as a means of getting at anyone that is opposed to him. Just because I criticised him and called for his sack, based on his fraudulent practises, as established by the Court of Appeal, in its judgment on August 18, 2016 and November 24, 2016, he hurriedly granted an interlocutory order against me on a matter pending before another judge.”
Speaking through his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, the governor reiterated his call to the National Judicial Council (NJC) to save the Judiciary from Abang’s embarrassment by sending him out of the Bench.

Biafra: I won’t give up fight, vows Nnamdi Kanu

Biafra: I won’t give up fight, vows Nnamdi Kanu

BY VICTOR · NOVEMBER 28, 2016

Leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and Director of Radio Biafra/Biafra television, Mr. Nnamdi Kanu has vowed never to betray Biafrans or abandon the fight for Biafra State.
He said he would continue to reject materials allegedly offered him to renounce Biafra struggle until victory for Biafrans was achieved.

Kanu who spoke through his lawyer, Mr. Ifeanyi Ejioffor said his prosecutors and persecutors have come with many strategies to trick him to sign off his quest for Biafra and regain his freedom which he rejected because of his love for the freedom of his people.
“I have been battling with forces of darkness both physically and spiritually since I was arrested. They came with many strategies just to trick me into signing off my quest for Biafra and gain my personal freedom. Little did they know that I am more intelligent and determined; I refused all their offers because the freedom of my people, Biafrans, is paramount to me and their freedom is the freedom of Nnamdi Kanu. The pains and agony of all Biafrans are the pains and agony of Kanu.”
“Prominent leaders, countries in the world and those who don’t have the videos of the killed Biafrans in their possession should go to YouTube and watch the heinous crime committed by the Nigeria Government and her security agencies against peaceful members of IPOB during peaceful rallies and demonstrations in all the Biafra cities of Aba, Onitsha, Owerri, Igweocha (Port Harcourt), Calabar, Uyo, Asaba, Enugu, Bayelsa and other numerous cities.
“The senseless killing of Biafrans is the senseless killing of Nnamdi Kanu. The cry of the Biafran youths is the cry of Nnamdi Kanu. The joblessness of Biafrans after university is the joblessness of Nnamdi Kanu. The impoverishment and subjugation of all Biafrans is the impoverishment and subjugation of Nnamdi Kanu. The child abuses of Biafran children by the Hausa/Fulani cattle headers is that of Nnamdi Kanu,” he stated.

Why PDP lost Ondo election – Fayose

Why PDP lost Ondo election – Fayose

November 27, 2016

Fayose and PDP governorship candidate Eyitayo Jegede at a rally on Thursday.

*Says INEC rigged Ondo election in advance for APC

Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State has alleged that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) connived with the All Progressives Congress (APC) and other collaborators in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to rig the Ondo Governorship election.

He said; “Just as I would have loved to congratulate the winner, Mr Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN), because in every contest, there must be a winner and a loser, the role of INEC in awarding victory to him in the election left much to be desired.”

The governor in a statement issued by his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayina, said INEC gave the APC victory in the election by deliberately replacing the name of Mr Eyitayo Jegede, the PDP candidate, thereby creating legal logjam that lasted till three days to the election.

He said that the PDP went to the election with its hands tied to the back because of the uncharitable actions of INEC, which has no doubt become an arm of the APC.

He maintained that apart from the APC, political parties in Nigeria are now contesting elections against INEC.

Governor Fayose said that,  “to sustain the ‘see and buy’ strategy and legalise money politics, the APC-led federal government deliberately created poverty in the country so as to continue to enslave the minds of Nigerians with peanuts to get their votes on election day, saying; “Dibo ko sebe (vote and collect money to cook soup) was the slang used by the APC in the Ondo State election and that only worked because the APC federal government have put Nigerians in abject poverty.

“Even though INEC allowed what appeared like a free and fair atmosphere on the election day, the election had been won and lost before it was held.

“For instance, INEC that witnessed the PDP primary election that produced Mr Eyitayo Jegede succumbed to pressure from the APC cabal to replace him with Jimoh Ibrahim, who did not take part in any primary election known to the Electoral Act.

“What could anyone have done under 72 hours in an election that was heavily monetised by the APC?

Sanchez brace keeps Arsenal in EPL title hunt

Sanchez brace keeps Arsenal in EPL title hunt

November 27, 2016

Arsenal's Chilean striker Alexis Sanchez AFP

Arsenal closed the gap on Premier League leaders Chelsea as Alexis Sanchez bragged a brace in a 3-1 win over Bournemouth on Sunday.

Arsene Wenger’s side are within three points of top spot after Chile forward Sanchez struck in each half at the Emirates Stadium to take his goal tally for the season to 10.

Sanchez gave Arsenal an early lead before Callum Wilson equalised with a penalty before the interval.

Theo Walcott headed Arsenal back in front just 24 hours after the birth of his second child and Sanchez wrapped up the points.

After drawing three of their last four league games to fall six points behind Chelsea, this was a timely victory for fourth-placed Arsenal, who are now unbeaten in their last 19 matches in all competitions and firmly in the title race.

Even Wenger conceded Arsenal had lost their momentum of late and, in a bid to revitalise his team, the boss made seven changes from the midweek draw against Paris Saint-Germain.

France striker Olivier Giroud dropped to the bench and there was a recall for right-back Mathieu Debuchy, who last played for Arsenal in November 2015.

On-loan Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere was ineligible to play for Bournemouth against his parent club, but his absence didn’t stop the visitors sticking to manager Eddie Howe’s philosophy of playing out from the back.

It proved a fatal indulgence in the 12th minute.

Bournemouth goalkeeper Adam Federici rolled the ball out to Steve Cook on the left and instead of knocking it long under pressure, the defender tried a back-pass that was intercepted by Sanchez, who gleefully slotted into the empty net.

Wilshere, watching from the stands, buried his head in his coat as injured Arsenal team-mate Danny Welbeck turned to indulge in some banter with his friend.

– Debatable –

Sanchez caused more chaos in the Bournemouth defence moments later with a surging run that ended with contact from Nathan Ake, but no foul was given by referee Mike Jones as Arsenal appealed for a penalty.

If that was frustrating for Arsenal, there was worse to come at the hands of Jones in the 23rd minute when he gave Bournemouth a debatable penalty for Nacho Monreal’s collision with Wilson, who picked himself up to slot home his club’s first ever goal against the Gunners.

Just before Bournemouth’s leveller, Debuchy’s return had come to a premature end when he limped off with the latest in a long line of injuries.

His departure seemed to destabilise Arsenal’s back four and Bournemouth should have taken advantage when Ake headed a free-kick towards the unmarked Adam Smith, who could only direct his header well over.

Arsenal are usually the ones bewitching their opponents with slick passing, but they were getting a taste of their own medicine from Bournemouth as another flowing move gave Brad Smith space for a shot that Petr Cech saved at his near post.

Sanchez tried to restore order just before half-time with a thunderous shot that cannoned back off the crossbar.

That warning shot foreshadowed a more dynamic period for Arsenal after half-time and they regained the lead in the 53rd minute.

Mesut Ozil’s cross was deflected on by Ake to Monreal, who scooped a cross back towards Walcott and the Arsenal winger nodded home from close-range before marking the birth of son Arlo with a ‘rock the baby’ celebration.

Having been embroiled in penalty controversy in the first half, Jones made another dubious call when he denied Bournemouth a spot-kick after Monreal blocked Simon Francis’s pass with his arm.

Bournemouth were finishing strongly and it took a fine save from Cech to deny Benik Afobe, but Sanchez eased Arsenal’s nerves in the 90th minute when he tapped in from Giroud’s cross.

FEDERAL GOVERNMENT WARNS AGENCIES AGAINST REJECTING CORPS MEMBERS

FEDERAL GOVERNMENT WARNS AGENCIES AGAINST REJECTING CORPS MEMBERS

The Federal Government has directed all Ministries Departments and Agencies (MDAs) to accept Corps members posted to them by the National Youth Service Corps.

Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Engineer Babachir David Lawal, conveyed the directive in a circular to the MDAs.

The circular, with reference number SGF.15/T/745, reads in part: “Government’s attention has been drawn to the growing incidence of rejection of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members posted to government establishments.

“To put an end to this undesirable development, it has become necessary to reiterate that the directive that Ministries Departments and Agencies (MDAs) should not reject Youth Corps members posted to them for their primary assignment is still in force.”

Engineer Lawal said the government’s directive was imperative in order to maintain the objective of the NYSC Scheme, which includes the involvement of Nigerian graduates of specific age category in national development and integration.

He says government establishments are also directed to ensure that the Corps members are actively engaged during their primary assignment just as the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports through the National Youth Service Corps is expected to monitor the level of compliance and give periodic reports to the government.

Egbegbe: Stealing of iPhones shameful – AGN

Egbegbe: Stealing of iPhones shameful – AGN

Seun Egbegbe

Mr Tope Babayemi, Interim Chairman of Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Lagos chapter on Friday described the alleged theft of nine iPhones by Oluwaseun Olasunkanmi as shameful.

Babayemi said that the law must take its course if he is tried and found guilty.

Olasunkanmi popularly known as “Seun Egbegbe’’ was alleged to have stolen nine iPhones at the Computer Village, in Ikeja.

“For me, it’s an example of bad practice and by extent it’s an example of the kind of thing we as a society are working hard to discourage.

“At the level of the guild and association, because we are not a hundred percent settled, there are court cases and issues at the national level that are affecting issues at the state chapters.

“My position as interim chairman is that no formal request has been made to us for assistance in anyway.

“As such what you do in that kind of situation is you allow the law to take its course, because law and order is paramount in building society.

“If he has been found to commit that offence, the law must take its course.’’

Babyemi advised upcoming artistes to desist from engaging in acts that could tarnash their image as well as that of the association.
